Tough, Adaptable, Smart, Here-Unitech’s PA968II is ready to go to work

Unitech’s new PA968II rugged handheld is the follow up to their hugely successful PA968 unit. The PA968 was famous for its durability and versatility and its successor builds on those features to create a fully specified mobile data capture device which be tailored to end user needs.

The PA968II swappable keyboards are a perfect example of this versatility, with users able to change between numeric and alphanumeric keypads very easily. Combined with peripherals such as an optional gun grip, the PA968II a flexible and upgradeable device which can be modified as needed, by mobile workers themselves, rather than through a time consuming specification process.

This versatility is matched with a rugged but sleek form factor, based around robust aluminium/magnesium alloy housing. The PA968II is designed to work hard in tough environments, as demonstrated by its IP65 rating and drop resistance to 1.5m. Exactly how smart the PA968II is becomes clear when you look at its connectivity. As well as Bluetooth, the PA968II device also incorporates InstantFixTM GPS and an advanced 3.5G (Including HSDPA) wireless communication platform, meaning it can track and trace via satellite and send collected data in a very short period of time. In addition, the unit has USB 1.1 connectivity and also functions as a phone, all powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional.

The 3.5 inch VGA screen allows high sunlight readability, and the LED back light, ensures the PA968II handheld can be used in almost any weather conditions.
