SAP announced today that a leading manufacturer of precision formed metal components, Presspart, is live using the SAP Business All-in-One solution. Presspart has a turnover of £20 million and is part of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group. It manufactures items such as cans for asthma inhalers and is the market leader for these products.

Presspart was previously using an old version of Sage which it was felt was no longer adequately maintained or supported so the company made the decision in December 2008 to look for another solution. The selection process was extensive because the software had to be useable in a way that would allow Presspart to meet the regulatory requirements for a pharmaceutical supplier. Presspart looked at several different options including Infor and finally selected SAP Business All-in-One based on its functionality and its ability to meet current and future market requirements.

“Our products are used in life saving devices and our customers depend on us to keep them supplied. It was therefore imperative that the system worked from day one. When choosing a new technology vendor, we had to be absolutely certain we were making the right choice both with the software, and also the implementation partner as we couldn’t afford for anything to go wrong,” said Dietmar Schmitz, Finance Director, Presspart.

SAP’s partner itelligence was appointed as the implementation partner for this project based on their expertise in dealing with small and medium sized customers.

Presspart began the implementation of the SAP Business All-in-One solution with itelligence in March 2009 and went live in November 2009.
