PERRY REMOVALS CONFIRMS SUPATRAK DELIVERS WHAT IT PROMISES
09 July 2007

SupaTrak, the vehicle tracking system developed by CMS Global Technologies of Swindon, is increasingly proving the perfect solution for a whole range of companies wishing to monitor and manage their mobile assets more efficiently.
New customer Perry Removals says the system does exactly what it says it will and that since it started using SupaTrak it has been able to streamline operations and work smarter.
Based near Stansted Airport and with several other locations in East Anglia, Perry Removals has a fleet of vehicles and four depots to monitor and control, and performs a variety of domestic, commercial and European moves, so it needs to know where the vehicles are and what they are doing at any given point.

The company realised a while back that a tracking system would help it to do this job better and came across SupaTrak during a Google search. It liked the pricing and after being given a demonstration decided the system could do everything it wanted and more.

Nick Martin from the company takes up the story: “Since putting SupaTrak on all our vehicles we have been able to get a much better overview of what is going on and this helps with planning and the overall effectiveness of everyday operations,” he says.
“It helps us get drivers to places they can’t find and to see who’s nearest and available to assist if a crew needs additional manpower on a job.
“We also use the system to resolve customer enquiries and usually a quick look at the online mapping system is all that is needed to be able to determine when a vehicle will arrive.

This is extremely useful as many of our moves have quite time tight time windows and customers appreciate knowing about any delays and their reasons.
“We fitted one of the vehicles with the European mapping option and have been impressed with the extra level of control that has resulted. For instance, on one occasion recently the truck did a 10-day trip visiting France, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain and France again to reload.
“All the deliveries were timed and by monitoring its progress and seeing where it was at any given moment we were able to keep everything on schedule and ensure every customer received the service they expected. Previously, without a tracking system this would have entailed a great deal more work, communication with the drivers and reliance on variable mobile coverage.
“It also provides us with particular moments to be proud of, such as the time one of our trucks made a delivery to No10 Downing Street and on the screen we could see it parked outside No 10 and know exactly when it arrived and how long it was there. “Overall, fitting SupaTrak has been a very positive move. It is proving very reliable and does exactly what it says it will, plus provide the opportunity to save us money on our fleet renewal insurance costs,” he adds.
As well as vehicle tracking, SupaTrak also comes with a comprehensive reporting function that includes start/stop and historic ‘history trail’ options, so users can see where their vehicles have been, when and at what speed. Other available options include satellite navigation, full European mapping and 30-second updates.
