Cargo2Go Builds Franchise Network with ACI from DA Systems
25 July 2007

Cargo2Go, an innovative new Sameday delivery company, has selected ACI (Advanced Courier Interface) from DA Systems as the control and scheduling system to power its nationwide delivery franchise.

Established only 18 months ago, Cargo2Go is already taking the local Sameday Transport sector by storm with its
holistic approach to customers’ transport needs.

The company has already set up the infrastructure and deployed ACI, which it has branded “CargoLine”, in its two flagship depots in the North West. As new franchise depots are established, each location will be linked to the main Cargo2Go data server, housed at its third party IT company with which DA Systems is handling the integration with the company’s existing systems, including its SAGE accounts package.

Chosen for its scalability both in terms of deployment and cost, as well as its powerful scheduling and flexible mapping functionality, ACI is the perfect choice for the Cargo2Go business model. It will enable controllers to schedule, track and report on all collections and deliveries. At each step of the way, drivers will be in contact with the controllers so that the most up to date information can be logged onto the ACI system, such as POB (package on board), POD (proof of delivery) and all other important information about the delivery. The company also has plans to roll out the NX Mobile Data solution across its fleet. This will enable drivers to capture consignment information electronically and give controllers complete visibility of the status and location of the entire fleet at all times.

Talking about the contract, Lewis Knight (Franchise Director) and Mike Le Gallez (Director) at Cargo2Go, said “As a franchise operation, we need control room software that’s easy for our franchise operators to use with minimal training, and that we can scale up and develop as new franchise depots open across the country.

ACI’s Windows-style interface will be very familiar to its operators and the postcode mapping functionality will enable controllers to map driver locations, provide accurate directions and focus on specific map areas to make the most of back-haul opportunities. ACI is a cost effective solution that will enable all our depots to get up and running very quickly, making Cargo2Go a great delivery business and a very attractive franchise proposition.”

Dave Upton, Managing Director of DA Systems, commented: “ACI is entirely scalable, so we will be able to bring new franchisees on-line very quickly as the Cargo2Go network expands across the country. We are delighted that Cargo2Go has recognised ACI and NX Mobile Data as the optimum solution for its delivery operations, and look forward to working closely with the business as the franchise network grows.”
