3 October 2007

Finn-ID will take part in updating the mobile-based real time tracking and tracing solution at Itella. The deal includes Dolphin mobile terminals from Hand Held Products as well as a device registry to support servicing the devices.
|
The terminals will be used in 40 distribution units to track the deliveries of Itella packages, containers and trolleys. The first phase of the update includes approximately 1000 devices and will be implemented by early 2008.
The contract is worth up to 2 Million Euros, which is the highest value in the history of the industry in Finland.
"With the help of the portable data collection devices which operate in real time we can improve our customer service and efficiency.
Thanks to these new mobile computers we can track the deliveries even more closely than at the moment. This in turn results in higher customer satisfaction", Jari Paasikivi, development manager at Itella explains.
"This contract is very significant for Finn-ID, both financially as well as for our image. We are extremely pleased that after a selection process including several other potential suppliers, Itella trusted our expertise and the devices from Hand Held Products", Petteri Tarkkonen, managing director at Finn-ID concludes.
