Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced that George Klaus, Epicor Executive Chairman of the Board, was the recipient of the coveted Stevie® Award for Best Chairman in the 2008 American Business Awards, presented Thursday night at an awards gala in New York City.
With more than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, the American Business Awards is the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business. Hailed as “the business world’s version of the Oscars” (New York Post, April 27, 2005), the American Business Awards recognize companies and business people by honoring their efforts, accomplishments and the positive contributions they make to business and society.
Klaus attributes his win to the more than 3,000 Epicor employees around the world who are dedicated to excellence at Epicor every day. “Our success as a company is a direct result of Epicor’s employees who, day in and day out, are committed to delivering world-class software, service and support to our customers,” said Klaus. “I have been fortunate to work with a talented and dynamic management team and a broad range of gifted employees throughout the world, all of whom share my vision of success and have contributed to significant annual revenue and profitability growth at Epicor. It is an honor to be recognized by the business community through the American Business Awards program.”
Klaus and Epicor have received numerous awards and recognition in the past, including a 2008 AeA High-Tech Award for “Outstanding Public Company,” Fortune magazine’s “100 Fastest-Growing Companies” of 2006, and a 2008 “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Technology Council of Southern California. Klaus was also recently recognized as a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year ® 2008 Awards program in the Orange County and Desert Cities region.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie winners from among the Finalists. Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April and May.
