HIGH WYCOMBE – 9 September, 2008

LXE Inc., the wireless logistics computing business of EMS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELMG) announced today that its recently launched MX7CS cold storage handheld computer has been selected by frozen food manufacturer and supplier KK Fine Foods for use in its cold-storage warehousing facilities.

Currently offering over 350 food products and using over 1,000 different raw ingredients, KK Fine Foods offers a wide range of dishes with a distinctive homemade appearance, quality and taste. Many of the products which KK Fine Foods produces are prepared by hand and are all processed, packed and stored on site, some within its purpose-built cold store, which is designed to hold over 1,000 pallets.

With the ability to operate in temperatures as low as -30°C, the MX7CS is ideal for carrying out product and order traceability within KK Fine Foods’ cold store.

“The MX7CS units seamlessly integrated with our existing ERP system and are perfect for our data collection needs,” says John Hughes, IT Manager at KK Fine Foods. “The size and usability of the keys means that barcode scanning is quick, convenient and easy, even when the operator is wearing gloves,” continues Hughes.

The MX7CS units are not only manufactured for the cold store’s tough environment they are also protected against it too as KK Fine Foods purchased a ServicePass agreement from LXE. “Bundling critical services such as depot repair, help-desk assistance and equipment configuration together ensures we get maximum performance from our hardware devices, allowing us to benefit from hassle-free maintenance and consistent care while fixing the cost-of-ownership of our hardware,” explains Hughes.

The MX7CS is the smallest, lightest handheld on the market specifically designed for highly effective use in sub-freezing temperatures (down to -30°C). The MX7CS completes LXE’s industry-leading cold storage product line, which also includes the VX6 and VX7 vehicle-mounted computers, and the HX3 voice computer.

Richard Adams, vice president of Marketing for LXE, concludes, “Our cold storage computing product line is the most complete in the industry. Combined with ServicePass Complete, it offers customers like KK Fine Foods a comprehensive solution to their cold chain management requirements”.
