Datalogic Mobile announces that IEEE 802.11g radios used in the Datalogic Falcon® 4400 Series mobile computers have been certified for CCX V4 using Summit’s SDC-CF10G compact flash radio module. Datalogic Falcon™ radios, manufactured by Summit, remain the only wireless LAN, or Wi-Fi® radios on the market that have earned the Cisco Compatible seal on Windows CE and Windows Mobile®, the leading operating systems for mobile computers and other business-critical mobile devices.
With Cisco products in nearly two-thirds of enterprise Wi-Fi® infrastructures, organizations of all sizes and types demand that the Wi-Fi® radios in their mobile devices bear the Cisco Compatible seal as users and administrators of business-critical mobile devices place a high value on CCX. Summit engineers CCX V4 support into every one of their radios, which is proven through the rigorous tests required to earn the Cisco Compatible seal.
The security capabilities required to pass CCX V4 tests are sufficient to ensure compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a critical requirement in retail applications handling credit card information. Retail customers are very concerned about PCI compliance. Many have wireless LAN infrastructures from Cisco and increasingly those infrastructures include Cisco controllers. Full support for CCX with a controller-based architecture is very important.
Taking this into consideration, CCX V4 certification will be provided for Datalogic Mobile’s other products in the near future. Datalogic Mobile is proud to be one of the first in the industry to provide CCX V4 certification for its mobile product range.
