Nexcom Launches Low-Cost In-Vehicle PC designed for Mobile Digital Signage Applications – VTC 2000

The VTC 2000 is a low-cost in-vehicle PC which has been specifically designed for mobile digital signage applications. Featuring the energy-efficient Intel® Atom™ N270 1.6GHz processor, the VTC 2000 supports Dual Independent Display and can play numerous file formats. For in-vehicle operation the platform can be powered directly from a vehicle’s battery and has the capability to withstand extreme levels of shock and vibration. The low cost VTC 2000 is therefore the ideal solution for fleet owners/operators looking to increase revenue streams by implementing in-vehicle advertising and infotainment systems.

In order to address the growing market for mobile digital signage applications, the VTC 2000 is equipped with dual independent display with CRT and DVI output. When used in combination with the platform’s integrated GPS function, operators can stream location-dependent advertising/information enabling advertisers to more effectively target specific individuals/groups. For increased flexibility the VTC 2000 has other connectivity options including Bluetooth and WLAN. It also boasts a multitude of other I/O interfaces including USB x 3, COM x 3, Audio, LAN and Mini-PCI.

The VTC 2000 has an integrated power ignition function which enables it to be powered directly from a vehicle battery. In addition, the VTC 2000 is compliant with most industry standards for in-vehicle computing including e13 and EN 50155. In-vehicle digital signage is the target market for this product, but other applications could include vehicle tracking and vehicle dispatch.

The VTC 2000 is fully compliant with most industry standards including the e13 Mark. The integrated power ignition function is a unique feature which differentiates the VTC 2000 from off-the-shelf assembled products. The GPS is an integrated function of VTC 2000. With expansion capability, the 3.5G, blue tooth, etc., can be added for meeting a wide variety of application requirements. Typical applications include automated vehicle tracking, driver information systems, in-vehicle digital signage and vehicle dispatch.
