LXE Launches Global Event Series Focused on New Mobile Computing Category for Field Services, Rugged Environments
ATLANTA – September, 2010

LXE, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc., announced today that it will host a series of media and partner events in Europe and North America to advance best practices in hardware and application development for field workers in rugged-environment markets, including field service, direct store delivery, utilities and public safety.

“LXE is committed to helping our partners and their customers respond to changing market dynamics with tools that deliver greater productivity and flexibility,” said Stephen Newell, LXE vice president and general manager. “Field workers are demanding the freedom of mobility without compromise, including greater usability, performance and connectivity. We are proud to be hosting this series of events for the press and our partners to create greater opportunities for dialogue on these issues and trends.”

The events will invite open dialogue and discussion around emerging mobile platforms that promise to enhance productivity and ultimately help redefine the relationship between field service professionals and the customers they serve. LXE executives will also provide a hands-on review of the new Marathon™ field computer. The Marathon field computer introduces a new form factor in mobile computing, with a larger screen size and greater computing power than a PDA, smaller size than a laptop, and multiple data-capture and connectivity options.

Scheduled media and partner events will be hosted in conjunction with already-scheduled conferences including, Service Management Expo in Birmingham, U.K. on Sept. 21, CTIA Wireless and Apps in San Francisco, Calif., on Oct. 6, IP Convergence in Paris, France on Oct. 19, IFDA Distribution Solutions Conference in Tampa, Fla., on Oct. 25, and AIM Expo in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 4.

The series is open only to a limited number of media, analysts and technology partners by invitation.
