Kier Facilities Services selects Janam Rugged Mobile Computers

Janam Technologies a leading provider of rugged mobile computers has announced that its XM66 rugged mobile computers have been selected by Kier Facilities Services for courier and postal services. KFS is part of the Services Division of Kier Group, an international construction and property service company.

Kier Facilities Services (KFS) has been providing its clients with facilities management services for more than six years. As part of its contract, KFS provides courier and postal services. On average, this includes over 1,100 deliveries to more than 350 sites every week. Among the deliveries are high-value items, pay checks and other parcels that require tracking and proof of delivery.

For this important activity, KFS have selected Janam’s XM66 rugged mobile computers running package tracking software from Barcoding Solutions Limited.

“Rugged hardware that can survive in tough environments is a must for our mobile solution to succeed,” said Sean Whelan, Contract Manager, Kier Facilities Services. “Strong scanning performance is also a prerequisite because there are several barcodes on each package, all varying in size. Barcoding Solutions enabled us to fully appreciate the importance of other key features such as display dimensions, product size, weight and battery life. The Janam devices offered the best mix of features for the job. It’s been a great success and most importantly, our workers, who use these devices all day, are pleased—so we know it was the right choice.”
