“Intermec always seems to be a step ahead of the competition, and this is definitely the case with the Intermec PW50,” said Rich Pacella, president, Velocitor Solutions. “By providing an easy to carry integrated computer and printer solution, businesses will quickly realise their return on investment.”

The rugged design of the PW50 incorporates a patented power management system that maximizes battery life. Its dual-charging capability keeps both computer and printer batteries charged via a single electrical connection through the vehicle mount or a 12-volt adapter. Like the CN3 series handhelds it complements, the PW50 easily withstands the bumps and drops that are common in fast-paced mobile use, resulting in lower total cost of ownership and less down-time.

The PW50 is currently shipping in Europe and worldwide.

Intermec (NYSE:IN) introduces the PW50, a rugged workboard printer that provides a convenient, integrated solution to simplify operations for workers in Direct Store Delivery (DSD), Home Delivery, and Field Service applications. It is designed specifically for use with the innovative Intermec CN3, CN3e, and CK61 handheld computers.

To maximize productivity, delivery and field service workers require tools that provide comprehensive capabilities in a form that is simple to use and easy to carry. When used in conjunction with a CN3 series handheld computer, the PW50 meets these requirements by providing a single convenient bundle that can easily be transported or installed in a vehicle. Custom holders safely secure the handheld computer in the printer, while allowing for easy removal for scanning or data entry. Additionally, hand straps and shoulder straps are available to simplify the moving of equipment between the truck and the point of delivery.

Optimised for the high-volume transaction environments of DSD, the Intermec PW50 printer’s on-board capabilities make transaction processing fast and simple. Integrated DEX communications allows for easy connectivity to in-store computer systems. In addition, secure Bluetooth connectivity provides a safe transactional environment, and fast print speeds and optional integrated smart card and magnetic stripe readers for point-of-sale transactions make for quick, efficient transaction processing.
