Intermec PB50 Mobile Printer Brings Labels Up Close

January  29,  2008
Intermec (NYSE:IN) has recently introduced the PB50, the company's first wireless mobile label printer and the perfect complement to Intermec mobile computers, Bluetooth scanners, and media.

As an integral part of the Intermec wireless mobile hardware solution for warehouse operations, the PB50 allows users to conveniently print labels, tags and receipts wherever and whenever needed through Bluetooth and WLAN connectivity.

The PB50 combines high speed electronics and the ability to print the full width of all pixels simultaneously, to achieve "time to first label" in less than half the time of other label printers. The printer combines a high-voltage battery, patented techniques for print head power management and high speed electronics normally only used in desktop printers to achieve industry-leading print speeds.

The PB50 joins the Intermec family of products supported by SmartSystems™ technology, a software platform that provides easy deployment, configuration and management of Intermec devices including the CN3 series, 700 series, CK61 series of mobile computers, SR61 and SF51 Bluetooth scanners.

"Consolidating mobile computing purchases with one reliable vendor is the simplest and wisest choice for most companies, as it makes for one common interface and one contract," said ARC Advisory Group Director of Supply Chain Management Steve Banker. "Intermec is providing users with a greatly simplified route to mobile computing with this 'soup-to-nuts' solution."

With a large on-board flash memory, the PB50 can store frequently used label formats and graphics on the printer, eliminating the need to access files from the host system, thus improving label throughput. The Intermec PB50 is available now worldwide.
