The eagerly anticipated IT-9000 from Casio has now officially been released and will be available to ship in mid-March, however, orders are currently being taken from Varlink, so resellers can secure their placements for the IT-9000. The new model is ideal for applications which require on the spot printing, such as mobile ticketing, issuance of tickets for parking and traffic violations and for receipts and tickets for public transport.

The IT-9000 is an all-in-one handheld device equipped with a built in thermal mobile printer, near field communications (NFC) reader/writer designed for contactless smart cards and radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags. With six models available there are plenty of additional options to choose from including; C-MOS Imager for 1D and 2D symbologies, a magnetic card reader, 3G wireless WAN capable of high-speed down link packet access (HSDPA), GPS capabilities, and a colour auto-focus digital camera. This therefore makes the IT-9000 an ideal offering to tailor around your vertical and/or application.

The device is dustproof and splash proof to IP54 standards, and can withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters, the VGA Blanview LCD touch panel allows for excellent visibility both indoors and outdoors, yet consumes far less power than conventional LCDs, all indicating the product is ideal for a variety of challenging environments.

The IT-9000 has high security levels and can be used securely for solutions where important information is handled, if the device is lost or stolen, the data it holds can be erased remotely via a command sent by an administrator over the wireless WAN network. The NFC reader/writer can be used to verify an operators login credentials using a contactless smart card.
