Manhattan WMS automates operations to drive efficiency improvements and service enhancements

Global supply chainoptimisation provider Manhattan Associates , Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) today announced that China Shijiazhuang Pharmaceutical Group (CSPC), a large pharmaceutical enterprise specialising in science, technology and trading, is implementingManhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management solution (WMS) at its new distribution centre (DC) in Shijiazhuang, China.

The deployment will enable CSPC to standardise and integrate the warehousing and distribution operations of CSPC Zhongcheng Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. to drive greater efficiency and reduce operating costs. CSPC alsosees the investment as critical to support its future business plan to offerthird party logistics services to other pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers operating in China.

The first phase of the operational ramp-up at the new DC will accommodate up to 350,000 cartons of medicine products. To support a distribution centre of this size, CSPC needed to automate its warehouse and distribution operations with an advanced and flexible IT platform that could be seamlessly integrated with its ERP solution and warehouse control system.
