Sandvik Selects Logility to Enhance Global Supply Chain

Mining and Construction Equipment Manufacturer Embarks on Supply Chain Transformation Project to Deliver Unrivaled Customer Service

Logility Inc., a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, today announced Sandvik, a high-technology, engineering group with advanced products and world-leading positions within selected areas, has selected Logility Voyager Solutions™ to drive enhanced visibility across its global supply chain, improve inventory and demand planning, and elevate its customer service.

Voyager Solutions will be deployed at Sandvik Mining and Construction, a business area within Sandvik with operations in more than 130 countries, offers the world’s widest range of equipment for rock drilling, rock excavation, processing, demolition and bulk-materials handling. Its large network of manufacturing facilities and world-wide distribution requires advanced supply chain software to ensure inventory is placed correctly and capacity is balanced across the system. Identifying the need for more advanced demand planning, inventory management and supply planning, Sandvik Mining and Construction embarked on a supply chain transformation project and turned to Logility Voyager Solutions to underpin the company’s efforts. Voyager Solutions will provide the advanced capabilities Sandvik Mining and Construction requires to create a more robust supply chain, deliver leading customer service and improve bottom line results.

“Due to many recent acquisitions, and our growing business volume and footprint it is necessary to transform our replenishment and distribution to increase service levels and minimize working capital, and it is critical we have a supply chain that will enable our future growth while keeping our costs low,” says Hans Blomgren, vice president of supply chain operations support, Sandvik Mining and Construction. “Logility Voyager Solutions will allow us to gain the visibility we need to accurately plan for demand and supply, optimize our network, and deliver the products our customers need when they want them. Logility’s experience and ability to scale to meet the complex needs of a global network were vital in our selection process.”

Logility Voyager Solutions provides the visibility and automation required for Sandvik Mining and Construction to proactively plan, manufacture and distribute its products. Now, the company will be able to optimize when and where inventory should be located, avoid issues such as over / under capacity, and reduce the need for costly expedited orders.
Sandvik Selects Logility to Enhance Global Supply Chain

“For capital intensive manufacturers like Sandvik Mining and Construction, the supply chain can quickly become a competitive differentiator,” said Mike Edenfield, president and CEO, Logility. “Logility Voyager Solutions will help drive a more efficient supply chain through greater visibility across the company’s complex, global network. We look forward to working closely with Sandvik as they rollout their supply chain transformation project.”

Recognized industry-wide for its rapid implementation, quick ROI, ease-of-use, and ability to solve complex problems, Logility Voyager Solutions™ is a comprehensive supply chain management solution which features performance monitoring capabilities to increase supply chain visibility and performance in key areas including demand, inventory and replenishment planning, sales and operations planning (S&OP), manufacturing planning and scheduling, supply and inventory optimization, transportation planning and management, and warehouse management.
