Hanjin Logistics, the new European subsidiary of the Seoul-based logistics multinational Hanjin Shipping, has chosen to implement Exact Software’s front and back office solutions, Exact Synergy and Exact Globe, at all four of its current locations in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
On an expansion course to Europe, Hanjin Logistics was looking for an international yet centralized, standardized software solution to handle financials and invoicing, as well as to accommodate future growth. Exact Software’s fully integrated suite of business solutions, and Exact’s excellent reputation as a global, strategic partner in the logistics sector, convinced Hanjin that Exact was the best choice for its European business.
“We chose Exact because Exact Software is such a famous and well-known brand,” says André Lee, the General Affairs and Accounting Manager at Hanjin Logistics.
One of Hanjin’s key requirements was that Exact Globe and Exact Synergy, in particular the Synergy Financial Consolidation module, be easily integrated with Hanjin Shipping’s corporate logistics systems in Seoul. Working in close cooperation with Hanjin, the Exact team created a solution integration concept that would ensure the smooth conversion of Excel data to Exact’s XML format, so that all of Hanjin’s financial data could be managed in real-time on one, browser-based platform.

“Thanks to the close collaboration between our two companies, we were able to clarify all the processes related to invoicing and financials on both sides in advance. This allowed a smooth transition to the Exact solutions,” says Henk Adriaans, Deputy Director of Exact EMEA.
With Exact Synergy and Exact Globe, Hanjin Logistics will be able to streamline its financial processes by using one web-based data environment that gives all users real-time access to worldwide corporate information. Hanjin will also be able to book, report and consolidate in all local legislations in accordance with Hanjin’s corporate standards. In the future, the Exact solutions will ensure a fast roll-out to new sites as Hanjin grows on the European shipping market.
