REVOLUTIONARY SYSTEM FROM CMS OPENS A WHOLE WORLD OF INFORMATION FOR APLE MILTON KEYNES LTD
|
Staff at APLE Milton Keynes Ltd pride themselves on providing comprehensive, efficient and secure transport services for their customers.
Four years ago the contracts distribution company needed a market leading application server provider and vehicle tracking system to continue to offer its customers peace of mind.
APLE chose CMS Global Technologies state-of the-art Citrix system and has never looked back.
As a modern logistics company APLE runs a 24 hour, seven day a week service and has to be flexible enough to offer both a smaller, personal service as well as handle any of its customers large-scale transport, storage and logistics requirements.
The system they needed had to be able to handle any situation efficiently and quickly and put vital and comprehensive data in one secure location for easy access.
On top of that, APLE needed to keep track of the movements of their fleet in order to achieve optimum efficiency and customer service
APLE Contract Manager Nick Dukes explains: “Originally we looked at five different systems but CMS was the most secure and the most professional.
“On the Citrix system we can see what the job details are, what the driver is doing and where he is going. We even know how many miles per hour he is doing.
“We can also use it for checking the drivers’ hours and we use the satellite tracking for security reasons.
“It also saves time on customer enquiries as we can tell them exactly where their package is and what time it will arrive.
“We are not worried about server or memory space because they have ample resources.”
Citrix is web-based programming, which allows staff to work from home if drivers are working late or if an out of hours call comes in.
APLE have bold plans for the future and CMS are able to adapt to support them.
By March 2008 APLE hopes to equip its drivers with a handheld receiver that would ensure they receive messages quickly and allow customers to sign for their goods on a screen, instantly updating the system.
Mr Dukes added: “We needed a system that was able to grow as our company grew and we have grown with CMS.”
“Their system makes us very efficient, eliminates guesswork and covers all the bases.
“I would recommend it to any company, but not actively as it’s such a good system we want to keep it to ourselves!”
