Masternaut Three X extends the reach of Lavendon Group’s fleet management
Leeds, UK, 16 June 2009

Masternaut Three X has won the contract to equip the Lavendon Group’s Skylift Vehicle Mount fleet with the latest in web-based vehicle tracking and mobile resource management technology. This will help to provide higher levels of customer service as well as improve the management of Skylift’s entire fleet of specialist vehicles.

With Masternaut, Skylift will be able to optimise performance management, by analysing and reducing mileage, improving route planning and gaining tighter management of drivers’ hours as well as see live fleet activity on screen. This will be further enhanced with the use of GreenerFleet; Masternaut Three X’s carbon footprint management tool that actively reduces CO2 emissions as well as lowering fuel usage.

“Masternaut will allow us to be more responsive to our customers as we will be able to provide precise details of ETAs of vehicles on site as well as being able to streamline our fleet management. The system will give us much greater control over our assets and we will be able to standardise procedures, reduce wastage, improve health & safety, improve the management of drivers’ hours, reduce emissions and cut our fuel costs. The system will provide the real-time intelligence we need to gain a full overview of the fleet and how we utilise it,” says John Weights, Skylift’s UK Service Manager.

The web-based service will play an important part in Skylift’s technical excellence (TechX) accreditation programme, which is a Lavendon group-wide initiative based on 5S principles that aim to help companies develop leaner work methods. Skylift is also implementing Masternaut Three X’s VisuLive at its national hire centre based in Coventry. This is a powerful web-based application that provides visual information displayed on big screens and monitors, allowing busy managers and team members to monitor their entire business from one place.

Lavendon Group is the European leader in powered access, including boom and scissor lifts, and van and truck mounted platforms. Skylift’s range of truck and van mounted platforms allow people to work safely at heights of up to 100m. Being vehicle-mounted, they can get to and from the site quickly, and are ready for use in minutes after arrival. These platforms are popular with local authorities, film and broadcasting, telecommunications and maintenance contractors.
