Anglian Bus and Coach opts for MiX Telematics fleet management solution

In a drive to uplift performance and efficiency in operation, Beccles-based Anglian Bus and Coach has opted for MiX Telematics Fleet Manager solution. Due to the early performance gains, which has seen the firm derive fuel savings of in excess of ten percent, the initial installation of 25 systems has now been supplemented with an order for a further ten units.

According to Director Andrew Pursey, MiX Telematics' Fleet Manager solution is now regarded as an integral part of Anglian Bus and Coach's business operations:

"The success of our company has been built upon our commitment to quality and service," says Director, Andrew Pursey. "But in today's world, you have to go further – by which I mean it is also essential to strive for maximum efficiency in operation and continuous improvement. That's why we turned to telematics as a means of providing us with the intelligence we need to enable us get the best out of our vehicle and our drivers.

"We opted for the MiX Telematics Fleet Manager solution after reviewing a number of options on the market and fitted a total of 25 units to vehicles ranging from Optare Solos and Tempos through to Scania Omni single and double-deckers. The benefits – namely, fuel savings of ten-percent-plus and fewer insurance claims – were apparent from the outset. Later on, our maintenance team confirmed our brake wear had reduced and we were using less air-bags.

"A further benefit is that we are now also using the systems as part of our SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) training to monitor improvements.

"Fitting MiX Telematics' Fleet Manager solution has been an excellent result all round for us – which is why we now have a further ten units on order!"

Formed 22 years ago, Anglian Bus and Coach is a family-owned firm which has grown to become an important regional operator with a 60-strong fleet of buses and coaches serving a sizeable area of East Anglia.
