SCA Transforest cuts costs and wins new business with RedPrairie Warehouse Management solution
Stokenchurch, UK

RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity software provider, announced today that leading logistics service provider SCA Transforest has implemented Warehouse Management at seven of its European terminals, with two remaining sites to go live this summer.

As a result of the implementation, SCA Transforest has benefited from lower distribution costs and streamlined warehouse processes. More importantly, the company is now serving numerous forestry product customers and can offer logistics services to other industries, something that was impossible with the old warehouse management system which supported forest products only.

A dozen potential vendors were evaluated, explains Thomas Granberg, System Owner at SCA Transforest. “We selected the solution from RedPrairie because we identified that its vast range of functionality would give us the best long term cost efficiency, and more importantly it would give us the flexibility we needed to run an agile and modern logistics operation, now and in the future.”

The solution is now live in Sweden, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and United Kingdom, with sites in Portugal and Germany to go live by September 2009.

“RedPrairie has helped streamline our warehouse processes. The system has meant more efficient use of our warehouse space and we are now able to manage higher volumes. The direct loading of goods to ships or trucks has been greatly improved. We now have a real-time system giving us visibility across our various terminals making planning much easier than before.”

“More and more companies are now discovering the benefits of working with us. They choose us because they can easily integrate their systems with ours and gain maximum control. Clients can now track their goods all the way from mill to end customer. We have achieved the goals we set,” concludes Granberg.

Martin Hiscox, Managing Director and President International at RedPrairie says: “It has been a pleasure following the progress of this multi-site rollout, and I am happy to see RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management System playing an important role in attracting new customers for SCA Transforest.”
