TOSHIBA TEC installs 600 award winning ST-A10 for the British Heart Foundation
8 March 2010

TOSHIBA TEC has won a 600 unit contract to supply every British Heart Foundation shop in the UK with the award winning ST-A10 TouchPOS system. The contract, which was won through a tender process, knocked out competition from Digipos. TOSHIBA TEC has a long standing relationship with the British Heart Foundation, who has been using the Toshiba cash registers for over 10 years.

The ST-A10 TouchPOS has been designed with an extremely durable, high clarity touch screen, sealed to protect against spillages and dust, a very small footprint and ‘Click-Release’ maintenance, making it very reliable and ideal for British Heart Foundation Shops.

“Reliability was the key issue for us, with only one unit per shop if the system goes down the shop can’t operate,” said Steve Biddle, Head of Finance at the British Heart Foundation. “We have worked with TOSHIBA TEC for some years and their low power consumption technology and their customer focused approach to installation can’t be beaten.”

TOSHIBA TEC’s engineering team handled the countrywide roll out, installing the ST-A10 and all 3rd party peripherals in 60 shops a week. All installations were completed by 10am in order to minimise store disruption and the TOSHIBA team remained on site to ensure staff were happy and confident with the new technology.

As part of TOSHIBA TEC’s long standing CSR policy, the TOSHIBA TEC head office in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire recently took part in the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Red for Heart’ campaign, raising money by holding a ‘Wear Red’ day and selling doughnuts.
