Lyon — May 27 2009

WAM Systems, a leading provider of supply chain planning solutions designed for process manufacturers, today announced the formation of a strategic partnership with ORTEMS S.A.S. to deliver an expanded solution set for advanced supply chain planning and optimization. WAM Systems and ORTEMS deliver supply chain planning and scheduling functionality to a number of industries, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, refining, consumer packaged goods (CPG), cosmetics and personal care. Their combined solution merges detailed scheduling with advanced planning, forecasting and visibility to bring a new level of functionality to an industry seeking the benefits of optimized global operations.

For nearly two decades, ORTEMS has extended the functionality of ERP, SCM and MES solutions by delivering advanced industry leading detailed scheduling solutions. From their Lyons, France headquarters, the company supports thousands of customers in over 40 countries across the globe.

WAM The WAM-ORTEMS partnership was recently introduced at the Symposium 2009 Batch Process Conference in Paris on March 26th as part of a collaborative effort that included Supply Chain Magazine. In attendance were supply chain executives from several industries who discussed the integration of supply chain planning technology with leading ERP and MES systems. The conference saw the premiere presentation of the joint WAM-ORTEMS solution that now combines functionality which has independently helped global enterprises save millions of Euros through achievements such as reduced inventories and optimized resource allocation.

“When we first examined the potential of a combined solution of WAM Systems and ORTEMS software, it was immediately clear that we would achieve a high level of functionality that our customers could quickly leverage to their advantage,” said Rene Desvignes, Chief Executive Officer of ORTEMS. “Adding WAM’s advanced optimization and visibility to our detailed scheduling allows our customers to extend the global view of their operations and achieve greater efficiency in the use of their assets, which can translate to significant cost savings. We recognize WAM Systems as a global market leader in supply chain planning technologies and are pleased to be able to deliver our combined solution to continue the quality support for our customers that they have come to expect.”

“Our collaboration with ORTEMS provides an unprecedented approach for advanced scheduling that many of our target customers will be able to leverage to great advantage. The synergy between our solutions enhances the already strong functionality of two leading players in the supply chain planning space,” said Jack Weiss, CEO and founder of WAM Systems. “Since first introducing our joint solution in Paris, the response has been extremely positive. Companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical and CPG industries are quickly seeing the advantages of the advanced global visibility and scheduling power that our expanded offering provides. We believe this new solution results in a breadth of functionality not currently seen in one solution in today’s global marketplace.”

Companies that undertake the process of implementing supply chain planning solutions such as the hybrid WAM-ORTEMS offering often begin with an internal analysis to determine how their existing business processes and tools compare to that of industry leaders and what steps would be necessary to improve operations. In support of this trend, WAM Systems and ORTEMS have launched a supply chain benchmarking initiative which affords companies a detailed comparison of their existing process and technology landscape to best-practices workflow and best-of- breed solutions. The benchmarking program, a free offering of the partnership, maintains confidentiality among all participants as it delivers a 20-page detailed outline of the participating company’s current supply chain planning strengths and opportunities. Companies interested in taking advantage of this unique benchmarking offering can contact Laila Ladgham of ORTEMS at +33 (0)4 37 49 70 29 or l.ladgham@ortems.com.
