Aldata speeds up the supply chain with Product Information Management solution
09 July 2007

Aldata, one of the global leaders in supply chain software for retail, wholesale and logistics companies, have launched a new Product Information Management module for its G.O.L.D. Central database that will enable retailers and their suppliers to collaborate more closely by synchronising, validating and referencing product catalogues.

The new module allows the user to pre-reference and adopt the product catalogue based on a collaborative workflow mechanism and improve the quality of the repository through, automatic synchronization with external data sources; sharing the tasks and responsibilities (internal/external); validation before integration; and, definition of referencing transactions dedicated by article type (business).

The advantages of this new architecture are that the user can easily implement their specific functions, including default values, value control specific function, value transformation specific function and value list specific function.

The module is already in use at a leading European retailer in Central Europe, where input to G.O.L.D. is streamlined in advance via a consolidated Excel spreadsheet containing everything an operator needs in order to enter a new article, which then forms the basis of a parameterised input screen, significantly increasing productivity in data entry.
