Price Chopper, the 26th largest supermarket chain in the U.S., has selected G.O.L.D. Retail Supply Chain Suite from Aldata, one of the global leaders in supply chain software for retail, wholesale and logistics companies, to centralise merchandising and procurement and to improve replenishment management operations across 116 grocery stores throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire.

“Price Chopper selected Aldata G.O.L.D. after an extensive evaluation of procurement solutions. We selected Aldata G.O.L.D. as a long term strategic technology investment based on the functional capabilities of the application and the knowledge of Aldata’s staff of the Grocery Business and its practices,” said Greg Zeh, Vice President of Enterprise Business Systems for Price Chopper. “Price Chopper continues to be responsive to growing market pressure and tighter margins. As such, we needed to select a business partner with vision and an agile, competitive system, which will allow us to streamline our procurement processes and enhance our supply chain efficiencies.”

Price Chopper stores include pharmacies, in-store bakeries with artisan breads, custom-cut meat shops, seafood departments with sushi, full-service floral, and natural and organic products. The family-owned company continually evolves to meet customer demand and remain competitive.

With Aldata G.O.L.D., Price Chopper expects to integrate operations, centralise inventory management and gain real-time inventory visibility across all its stores. The Northeast grocer anticipates leveraging Aldata’s PIM (Product Information Manager) module to better manage item and vendor data by enabling vendors to enter their data in to a vendor portal. Price Chopper is contracted to implement the G.O.L.D. Topase module for demand-based replenishment and the G.O.L.D. Mine business intelligence system to gain real-time visibility into factors such as enterprise inventory management, internal operations, competitive activity and its business partners, which all directly impact day-to-day business.

“When Price Choppper completes the implementation of the Aldata G.O.L.D. Retail Supply Chain Suite, they will be taking a giant step towards optimizing its operations, IT infrastructure and better positioning itself in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Brendan Lowe, Vice President, North America, Aldata Solution. “With Aldata G.O.L.D. in place, Price Chopper will be able to create new efficiencies, squeeze waste out of operations and improve its overall strategic position.”
