TMC, a leading display equipment designer and manufacturer, has awarded K3 Business Technology Group (K3) a contract for a fully integrated IT solution that will automate its entire processes. The contract covers a comprehensive suite of SYSPRO ERP modules together with an integration package that links TMC’s CAD system directly to SYSPRO. The new system is tailored to integrate all three TMC companies enabling information to flow seamlessly throughout the organisation. TMC anticipates a major boost in efficiency and customer service levels from using the system, which goes live in January 2009.

The tailored SYSPRO solution integrates all business processes replacing TMC’s mix of stand-alone legacy systems comprising Radan e2i, spreadsheets and Sage accounting software. The new system is based on MRP, Advanced Planning & Scheduling, Payroll, Personnel, Time & Attendance and Shop Floor Data Capture modules. With the new solution TMC gains the benefit of real-time readily accessible information, held in a centralised repository, giving the management team true visibility of business critical data.

“We carefully examined the ERP market before selecting SYSPRO from K3. It is important for us that the solution has the ability to provide accurate real-time stock valuations and enable information visibility across the three operating companies – TMC itself, our manufacturing company MetalCo and our powder coating / finishing operation ColourCo. It is also crucial that we eradicate duplication, allowing us to maintain accurate and readily accessible records throughout the business. The K3 team quickly grasped a good understanding of our needs and they were able to demonstrate how SYSPRO’s advanced features and functionality would be the best fit,” says Karl Chandler, Group Purchasing and Project Manager at TMC.

TMC operates in a highly competitive arena, supplying the retail market and leading power tool manufacturers. The new SYSPRO solution will provide the organisation with a significant edge by linking all processes, reducing administration and allowing it to concentrate on its core business processes and improve customer service levels.

“The new system will streamline everything we do. There is some very clever integration that allows us to automate many areas that were previously ‘off system’ relying on information residing in spreadsheets and peoples’ heads. Now we will be able to use a common resource that will speed up decision making and significantly improve our ability to respond to our customers. For example, being able to accurately schedule jobs and see our stock levels in real time will make a huge difference. We anticipate that SYSPRO will enable us to drive down our costs and become more competitive – a key requirement in today’s market,” concludes Karl Chandler.
