Aldata Solution, a leading provider of software solutions for the retail industry, announced today that Delhaize Belgium, the international food retailer, has selected Apollo Designer Workstation – part of Aldata’s Apollo Space Optimization offering – to improve category and shelf performance. This investment will enable Delhaize to better respond to customer demand, improve inventory planning and efficiently deliver tailored assortments, by creating customer-centric planograms at the store level.

“The one-size-fits-all approach to store planning is no longer effective. Ensuring that we have the right products in the right place at the right time is critical to the success of our brands,” said Tanguy t’Serstevens, vice president, Supply Chain for Delhaize. “We evaluated several solutions and Apollo Designer Workstation appears to be the one that could provide us with the granular level of detail and functionality we required. It seems to be user-friendly, scalable and quick to implement.”

Apollo Designer Workstation is the market leader in Space Planning Automation and is used by manufacturers and retailers globally. With Designer Workstation, Delhaize will automate planogram production, enabling consistent and accurate execution of category plans and new product launches at the individual store, product and shelf level. The new technology will help Delhaize to reduce ‘out of stocks and ensure that any redundant shelf space being taken up by over-stocking of slow moving items is released for fast moving goods.

“Delhaize is constantly innovating to meet the needs of its customers while at the same time, running its business smartly,” said Shaun Bossons, senior vice president of Aldata Apollo. “With Apollo Designer Workstation, Delhaize will be able to reduce costs, reduce waste and increase product availability. Delhaize will also be able to increase the effectiveness of its merchandising collaboration with suppliers, as both parties will be able to work strategically using the same solution to assure the best performance. We are pleased to be expanding our relationship with Delhaize.”
