M18.com Selects RedPrairie's Warehouse Management for E-commerce Warehouse in China

Mecox Lane's Internet platform for apparel and accessories turns to RedPrairie WMS to manage explosive growth in e-commerce orders

RedPrairie Corporation, a global supply chain and retail technology provider, announced today that M18.com, the e-commerce platform for Mecox Lane Ltd (NASDAQ: MCOX), has selected RedPrairie Warehouse Management for its Wu Jiang warehouse.

M18.com is one of China's leading online platforms for apparel and accessories. It offers a wide selection of fashion, home, beauty, healthcare and pet products targeted at the large population of young urban female shoppers in China – one of the fastest growing consumer spending markets in the country.

The Wu Jiang warehouse, which employs 600 people, currently processes 50,000 orders a day across the four floors of its nearly 140,000-square metre facility. Mecox Lane will be using RedPrairie Warehouse Management for clustering, receiving, putaway, allocation, picking, packing and shipping to manage as many as 200,000 order lines per day.

"Mecox Lane's vision is to make the M18.com online department store the top destination for fashion products in China," said Alfred Beichun Gu, CEO of Mecox Lane Limited.

"One of our key strategic initiatives is to increase our warehouse and logistics capabilities in order to continue our rapid growth. RedPrairie demonstrated during the selection process that it has the best warehouse management solution available in the world today to help us to effectively manage that explosive growth over the long term."

In the first quarter of 2011, the number of orders for Mecox Lane's e-commerce platform increased 40 percent over the same period in 2010. M18.com offers products under proprietary brands including Euromoda and Rampage, as well as select third-party brands that include international, Chinese, independent and emerging lines with unique designs.

"We look forward to working closely with the team at Mecox Lane to help it advance its warehouse management solutions with RedPrairie," said RedPrairie Managing Director, APAC Rod Talbot. "This is a great example of an innovative warehouse management project designed to put Commerce in Motion for the burgeoning e-commerce industry in China. We're excited to be working on this initiative with one of the most successful online platforms for apparel and accessories, not only in China, but in the world."
